Jack Cover Medal of Heroism
Jack Cover, inventor of TASER technology, envisioned the preservation of life through non-lethal force. At Axon, we continue his mission to protect life through our products and technology.
The Jack Cover Medal of Heroism is given out on an ongoing basis to recognize public safety professionals who use a TASER energy weapon to save a life through less-lethal force.
Eligibility
Any submission that meets the following nomination criteria will receive a Jack Cover Medal of Heroism:
- Use of a TASER energy weapon to de-escalate a critical situation any date after January 1st, 2020
Award + Event Experience
Each year, one Jack Cover Medal of Heroism winner will receive:
- All-expenses paid trip plus guest to Axon Accelerate (April 10 - 12, 2023, Phoenix, AZ)
- Engraved Acrylic TASER
- Pulse TASER Energy Weapon
This winner will be presented with their prizes on stage at Axon Accelerate. This winner will receive a spotlight on Axon social media.
NOTE: In order to be eligible for the Jack Cover Medal of Heroism Award + Event Experience, Medal of Heroism nominees must submit body-worn camera footage of the incident in question in their nomination.
