As Hurricane Ian brought historic flooding to Central Florida, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies sprang into action to save a woman whose car was submerged and swept away by surging waters.

In a stroke of luck or perhaps destiny, one deputy who raced to the scene had 200 feet of rope in his patrol vehicle.

Using that rope, five deputies formed a human chain to venture into the rushing floodwaters, up to 10 feet deep, to rescue the woman.

The amazing moments were captured on the officers’ Axon body-worn cameras.
