K9 Deputy Lewis

Please tell this officer’s story of how they saved a life or showed exemplary service in the field.

Deputy Lewis was selected for the first narcotic K9 in the Central Washington area jail. This position is almost fully funded by community support. Deputy Lewis has always shows and goes beyond his regular duties. He organizes fund raisers to community meet and greet. He has painted and new look on what correctional/pre-sentencing facility is in the local area. Even on his off time he keeps up with his social media and informs/answers his viewers questions. While moving to be closer to the facility he witnesses an accident. Without hesitation Deputy Lewis stopped to see if he could assist.( he was off duty and not in uniform and with family). Deputy Lewis has only been on with Chelan County Regional Justice Center for a few years and has always shown his dedication to whatever he is assigned to. I am grateful that am to work with him.

Why should this officer receive the RISE Officer award?

I believe that Deputy Lewis should receive the Rise Officer award because of his dedication that he brought to the Wenatchee Valley and the willingness to give his sweat and blood to educate his fellow colleagues and the community about introduction of drugs into the jail and how the K9 helps with eradication of that.

His continuous efforts of one team one mission is making our agency a premier agency to work for and better community live.

The RISE Officer award would assist Deputy Lewis to continue his and K9 Kait's education and other items needs to keep the valuable program up and running.
